During the department’s history, R.B. Abdullayev and D.S. Matkarimova defended doctoral dissertations. The almanac also lists Sh.A. Khodjayev, A.B. Yakubova, N.Sh. Shamuratova, G.S. Hamidova, Yu.K. Masharipova, K.Y. Ismailov, I.Y. Ruzmetova and A.B. Samadova among specialists who defended dissertations for academic degrees.
According to Professor R.B. Abdullayev’s 2026 profile, seven researchers defended dissertations under his supervision in specialty 14.00.05 — Internal Medicine. He participates in academic degree-awarding councils at Samarkand State Medical University and Urgench State Medical Institute.
Departmental research covers internal medicine, gastroenterology, hepatology, rehabilitation, dietetics and traditional medicine. Academic mentorship also supports students entering scholarship competitions, subject olympiads and innovative projects.
